Factotum
As the second hire, mjb is a 10 year veteran of H&G and wears many hats. Despite a BFA in painting, and starting his career doing pasteup and managing ad studios, he’s a process guy who’s following web and mobile technology forward. Keeping a foot in two camps, for the past 18 years he’s run a traditional letterpress shop in JP. In this capacity he owns a significant collection of rare hot metal type, and library on printing, and typography. A past president of the Letterpress Guild of New England, he's currently treasurer of the Society of Printers, Boston.
Three season bicycle commuter, still drives his first car. Pescatarian. Gordian knot. Call him anything you like, just don't call him late for dinner.
IF I WON THE LOTTERY TODAY, WHAT WOULD I BE DOING?
Working in the printing office and documenting the process to the web.
